Exploring space and movement, Jitter, is a site-specific art installation placed in the entrance hall of Copenhagen Contemporary. The installation is a contribution to the exhibition “Light and Space” that is on view from December 3 2021 until September 9 2022. Jitter involves two semi-transparent curtains suspended from motorized rails. A computer algorithm controls the curtains’ individual movements on the rails, following pat- terns of randomness.

The curtains move in a continuous flow, constantly creating new spatial constellations within its defined boundaries. While navigating in the entrance hall, the person experiences that movements are cut off and dissolved and elements of the entrance hall are disappearing, resulting in the appearance of new elements, new corridors, and temporary spaces. Thus, the temporary spaces created by the curtains repeatedly frame and reframe the meeting between space and person.
