Copenhagen in Common extended exhibition period

***** Kulturinformation

DAC’s big summer exhibition is about what we have in common – namely architecture. It is what frames our lives. A good place to live, work and learn. A nice place to hang out. A safe place to move about. In the exhibition What We Have in Common, we present a wide range of Danish architects who are designing Denmark now and in the future. Our proposal for Palads Teatret in Copenhagen is part of the exhibition.

Exhibition period: May 5 – February 25, 2024

Oslo Architecture Triennale 2022
Peoples Palace

We are happy to announce that we have been selected fort the Oslo Architecture Triennale 2022 with the public project "Peoples Palace" / ‘Farvernes Plads, Folkets Palads’.

The 8th Oslo Architecture Triennale, ‘Mission Neighbourhood’, explores how we form the places we share and how we can make them better.

Visit the Oslo Architecture Triennale this fall from 21st of September until 30th October 2022. Find more information on

‘Farvernes Plads, Folkets Palads’ is a transformation of Poul Gernes' Palads. With the transformation a new kind of urban space emerges. The project creates space for complexity, diversity, and an overlapping of functions in a generous public space that pays homage to the city's complexity. In line with the Palace's status as a popular icon, a people's house is created - for the benefit of the city's inhabitants.

The project has been made in collaboration with Atelier for Byers Rum / Knud Aarup Kappel (Architect MAA) + Lauge Floris (Architect MAA), Olivia Toftum (Cand.mag), DSA ARK STUDIO / Nils Jeppe Hansen (architect MAA) + Jørgen Beck Taxholm (Architect MAA)

Håndværkskollegiet på Musicon
We have won the architectural competition for the new College of Crafts in Musicon by BRFfonden in collaboration with LOOP Architects, ReVærk Arkitektur, Kragh Berglund Landscape Architecture and Urban Design and Artelia Danmark.

For us, this is absolutely fantastic news, as art has been given an incredibly high weight in the program for the new College of Crafts for Musicon in Roskilde. In addition to allocating a large percentage of the construction cost to art, the BRF Foundation has had an ambitious desire for art and architecture to be intertwined in a gesamtkunstwerk.
In order to honor this wish, together with architects and landscape architects, we have insisted on keeping the boundaries between the professional fields open. We have developed the conceptual basis for the task together and have regularly held workshops with criticism and inputs across the subjects to strengthen the joint thinking of art, architecture and landscape. We have done this because we believe that by working interdisciplinary you create the best architecture, the best art and the best spaces.

The role of art in the competition has been multifaceted and we have had to respond on many different levels: from building-integrated works to art strategy to social and time-based projects.
All together with a desire for art to support the main focus in the building scheme: communities and aesthetic and ecological sustainability.
In the near future, we look forward to being able to reveal how art will concretely materialize in - and around the College of Crafts at Musicon.

A big praise to BRFfonden for the super ambitious competition program, a big thank you to Loop Architects, ReVærk Arkitektur, Kragh Berglund Landscape Architecture and Urban Design and Artelia Danmark for a good collaboration and thanks to Hele Landet Arkitekter @helelandet and Stenka Hellfach / @somewhere_publicartagency for a fruitful collaboration in connection with the execution of workshops and competition.

Craftmen apprentices dormitory in Roskilde

The private Danish foundation BRFfonden is generously financing and building three dormitories for craftsmen apprentices in Denmark. One dormitory in Herning and Horsens. The third dormitory is planned to be build in the new neighbourhood Musicon in Roskilde, DK.

Prior to a later building programme and competion a selected team of architects, artists and not the least craftsmen apprentices have been invited to create an experimental test course on site in Roskilde, September 2022.

We are happy to announce that we are part of the selected group of artists and we are looking much forward to the next step in the project.

The picture above is the result of our collaborative workshop together with artist Henrik Plenge Jakobsen and a group of craftsmen apprentices. Together we created an enormous changeable wall of colored acrylic boards and a giant transformative chandelier of rough LED light fittings suspended from the ceiling.
